Established in 1980, Niklby Doberman's primary goal was and still is, Quality not Quantity. We are not only concerned with breeding beautiful and structurally sound and standard dogs, but are primarily focused on the Doberman's health and temperament more than anything else. Our breedings are carefully planned, taking into consideration the sire and the dam's pedigrees, temperaments as well as the health histories. As a member of the Doberman Pinscher Club of America (DPCA), we don't breed for size; we breed for a medium sized, square, balanced, compact muscular doberman conforming with the DPCA standard.
The success of our kennel has been based on progeny bred from Niklby's foundation bitch, Raven, Ch. Aqua's Lady Raven, CDX, ROM (8/25/80 - 7/28/93). She achieved her Companion Dog obedience title at the young age of 9 months old, her Companion Dog Excellent obedience title when she was 15 months old and her American Championship at the age of 3 years old, finishing her championship with three majors at Specialty shows.
Balanced, square dogs do well in agility and that is our other venue we dabble in. Currently we are training and competing in agililty, obedience and conformation. The doberman is a very unique and intelligent animal that needs alot of exercise and mental stimulation so giving them a job makes them happy as well as it makes us happy. And a trained dog is a good dog and not a burden.
